Shoryu Ramen - give your tastebuds a sensation

Ramen’s always been a bit hit or miss with us but after visiting Shoryu Ramen we’re converted!

The Japanese restaurant chain specialises in authentic Hakata cuisine with their signature dish being the Hakata tonkotsu ramen. Deep bowls of creamy pork broth which has taken 12 hours to prepare, filled with delicacies such as nitamago egg, kikurage mushrooms, spring onion, sesame, ginger, nori seaweed.

There are a range of ramen to choose from and you can decide whether you want your noodles soft, hard or very hard. Our waiter recommended we go for hard and that was a great decision because it meant that the noodles didn’t get too soft in the broth and by the end still had that lovely, weighty noodle texture that we love.

To accompany your meal you can choose soft buns and juicy seafood tempura.

Drinks include the standard fare but why go with that when you can choose from the Shoryu Ramen cocktail menu? Try the Dirty Lychee, Yuzu Mojito or Tiki Passion - go on, live a little ;)

There are several branches of Shoryu Ramen across the UK, and the latest one to open - the 11th branch - is located in Shoreditch, East London. Fitting in perfectly with the hipster East London tempo the restaurant has a casual vibe and a friendly atmosphere, so a great place to meet up with friends, have a date night etc.
